Prayer for Peace
O Lord God, we pray for peace and love in all the nations among all the people. That all wars and hatred will end. We pray for those who suffer from war, injustice and intolerance, for the children, young people, the poor and neglected ones. We pray for peace in our life, lands, nations families and in our hearts. Lord, give us world peace. We ask your mercy in the name of our Lord, Jesus Crist. Amen.
Prayer for Vocations
"Heavenly Father, through all generations, You have chosen men to serve You by sharing in the Holy Priesthood of Christ, Your son. We beg You to call men form our diocese to serve as priests at the alter, and to send Your Holy Spirit to help them discern Your call. Give them understanding to know Your will and courage to follow it. Pour out, too, Your grace upon women from our parishes to serve You in religious life, formed after the model of Our Blessed Mother. We ask this through our eternal High Priest and King, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Creating a Culture of Vocations
Christ spoke of the talents each one of us has, talents that must not be buried. Our calling is to take these talents, develop them fully and use them in establishing His kingdom on earth. God has graced us with specific talents or charisms to assist us in service others through our vocations. Join our brothers and sisters in our monthly diocesan Holy Hour for Vocations at St. Matthew Church in Tolland on Friday, December 19th at 6:00 pm. We will pray for all people in our Church to discover and live out their vocations and particularly for men to be called to priesthood and for women and men to be called to the consecrated life.
How to Evangelize
Listen to your friends' problems and take it one step further by offering to pray for and with them about their problems. Show them that there is a God who loves them and wants to help them.
New Mass Stipends Announced
At a meeting of the Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Hartford, of which the Dioceses of Norwich is part of, the Bishops decreed that effective January 1st, 2026 all Mass stipends will be $15. This will replace the current stipends of $10 for weekday Masses and $20 for weekend Masses. Per the decree, if stipends have already been received, there will be no adjustment or returns. We shall celebrate Masses for those in need, even if no stipend is received.
Interfaith Council
We are looking for one or two volunteers for this ministry. There is only one meeting per month, usually on the third Tuesday, and the main purpose is to both gather and share information with other local churches and synagogues. Unfortunately, we recently lost two of our parishioners who represented this committee. If you are interested in filling this position or would like or information, please contact Barbara Laliberte at 860-774-4176.
CCD Classes
CCD classes will begin on Sunday, September 29th. Classes will be held this year on the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of the month from 9:15 to 10:45 am in the church basement at our Lady of LaSalette Church. Please contact the rectory at 860-774-6275 if you are interested.
Eucharistic Adoration
"Could you not watch with me for one hour" Matthew 26:40. Every Wednesday from 8:30 am to 6:45 pm, we have a truly rewarding experience to sit with God for one hour each week, undisturbed by phones, traffic, appointments, etc. in Adoration at Our Lady of LaSalette Church. It is an honor assigned to only chosen parishes with the commitment to keep company with God. If you are interested in participating for one hour, please pick up and complete one of the forms available at the entrances of the church.

You will be happy you did. Books are provided and classes will meet after Mass on Ash Wednesday and weekly thereafter at 6:45 pm (after Benediction). Please join us.

2026 ACA Bulletin Announcement
Thank you for your past support of the Annual Catholic Appeal which provides funds for many of the pastoral, educational and charitable ministries within the Diocese of Norwich. As we embark on our 2026 ACA, One Faith, One Family, we thank God for the strength and love we have received from him during this past year, when we, relying on our ONE FAITH, have uplifted our brothers and sisters in our ONE FAMILY. The ACA in-pew collection will take place in our parish on March 14 and 15, 2026. Please give prayerful consideration when contemplating your sacrificial gift to the appeal. The future of our ministries depends on it.
Pontifical Good Friday Collection
Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land, where they are now less than 2% of the population. Your support is essential to help the church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools, and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines of Christianity, including in Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem, to name a few. The Pandemic had hit the Holy Land hard. Most of them depend on pilgrimages for work. The war and now the Iranian conflict have made their situation even more dire. In this time of crises, the Pontifical Good Friday Collection is necessary to meet the needs of the People of God living in this land and to maintain a Christian presence where the Church was born. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you join with Catholics around the work in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. Please be generous.

Shoe Fundraiser
We're excited about our latest fundraiser because you don't have to buy anything! We're collecting gently worn, used or new shoes to help raise money for our parish. Have you cleaned out your closet lately? Those shoes that have been sitting there unworn have value! We are looking for all types of shoes: children and adults' sneakers, boots, dress shoes, sandals, athletic or casual shoes. We want them all! Please ask your family, friends and members of our community to participate by recycling their gently worn, used and new shoes. Start by checking around your home for pairs of shoes you have outgrown, don't fit correctly or are no longer in style or season. Not only do you help us, but shoes also get a second life with those in need. It's a double donation. Can you collect 25 pairs of shoes to reach our goal? Even if you can't collect a total of 25 pairs, it's ok. Remember every pair of shoes helps! Drop off your collection of shoes in the box located at the Church Rectory porch at Our Lady of LaSalette or at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Center at 45 Cedar Swamp Road, Hampton, CT. Please keep the donated shoes in a bag so we can keep track of them. Thank you so much for your help!
The shoes our team collects will help raise funds for our 150th Anniversary and keep shoes out of landfills. After that, they are repurposed to help support microenterprises in developing nations. We look forward to your help!
Drive goes from now until May 25, 2026.
